Creating a dashboard KPI takes a bit of work from all of us, but this is the basic sequence:
Think about what you want to measure
Since you know your organisation best, we'll ask you to do a bit of initial thinking and analysis before we even get started. After all, it's difficult to achieve a goal if we can't clearly identify what that goal is! What is your actual KPI? Who is the target audience, and what do you want them to do as a result of this KPI on their Recordbase dashboard?
Document
Next, we'll provide a form and ask you to answer some questions in order to define exactly how you want your dashboard KPI to look, what data you want to be returned, how you want that data summarised, and any special restrictions or additions that you may need. We're happy to help you work through these forms (we are the data nerds, after all!) but we'll ultimately need you to make final decisions about what you need.
Wild Bamboo quote
Once you've documented exactly what you want, we'll be able to give you a quote for the cost of the work and an estimate of the timeline to delivery. Once we begin development of your KPI, any changes may be chargeable so it's very important to make sure that you're 100% happy with the proposed specification before you sign it off.
Agree on KPI measure and accept the quote
You're happy that you've nailed down exactly what you need, we're happy that we understand exactly what you need (and how we're going deliver it). Since we're all happy, let's get this show on the road!
Wild Bamboo development
Once the KPI is fully documented and signed off for development, we'll assign it to our reporting developers here. To maximise efficiency and reduce costs for our customers, this team schedules their work in weekly cycles usually, one week of report development, one week of KPI development, one week of miscellany so your KPI will likely be scheduled into the next round of KPI development. Bear in mind, however, that chargeable work always receives priority scheduling; although we work very hard to deliver as quickly as possible, if we're developing a KPI free of charge, it will be scheduled in after all chargeable work is completed this means we cannot guarantee a specific delivery time for pro bono work.
