There are four ways to find a client from within the clients tab:
- Search by typing in the name, partial name or primary reference number (usually NHI number).
- Browse clients for whom you are assigned as a caseworker.
- Browse clients for whom one of your direct reports is assigned as a caseworker.
- Browse teams to see the clients who have been referred to the team.

How to search for a client
- In the Search box, enter at least the first three characters of a client's first, middle, last, preferred, maiden name or reference number (e.g. NHI Number).
- Depending on your organisation's setup you can also search for clients by other reference numbers such as WINZ (SWN), ACC, or driver license to name just a few.
- Click Go. Any relevant matches will be displayed in the results panel.

What is included in your search results?
Recordbase will present you with a list of all clients that match your query, regardless of whether you are permitted to view those client records. If your access to a client's record is restricted, a padlock will appear to the left of a client's name in the search results. You will not be able to open the records of any padlocked items.

What's not included in your search results?
Recordbase excludes any clients for which you have been blacklisted. Blacklisting is a feature that allows your organisation to permanently restrict your access to specified client records. If you have been blacklisted from accessing a client's record, these will never show up in any search results.
