The checkbox next to each medication selects that medication for inclusion in a prescription. One or more active, non-controlled medications in this list can be added to a prescription.
To create a prescription from selected medications, navigate to the correct client and their medication page:
- Ensure that an entry has been created in Recordbase for each of the medications you wish to prescribe (see Creating a Medication record, above).
- Click the checkbox next to each medication you wish to prescribe. Note that only one controlled medication can be added to a prescription, and you cannot select any medication marked as 'Custom'.
- You can select medications across multiple pages for those clients that have large quantities of medications setup against them, Recordbase remembers which medications you have selected.
- Click the Create prescription button when you have at least one medication selected. Multiple non-controlled medications can be selected to create a prescription, but only one controlled medication can be selected at a time. It is not possible to create a prescription for controlled and non-controlled at the same time.
- Select the Signing prescriber from the drop-down list. These need to be set up before you can create a prescription.
- Complete the remaining information. All fields are free text, so can contain numbers and text if required.
- Click Save. This will save it to the client record and then launch a printable version of the prescription.
- A prescription is a PDF document, and so can be printed to any printer. Recordbase prints A5 prescriptions.
